Property Spotlight: Four Seasons Punta Mita
If there’s one thing Mexico has in abundance, it’s beautiful beachfront resorts. At CSB Travel, one of our favorites is the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. Tucked between the Sierra Madre Mountains and the pristine Pacific coast, this property has it all: privacy, sophistication, and service to boot. The only problem with it is leaving!
Getting There
Traveling to the resort is a breeze: with nonstop or one-stop flights from most major US cities, you can land in Puerto Vallarta (Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport/airport code PVR) in as few as 2.5 hours. The stunning Four Seasons Punta Mita is located on the Bahía de Banderas, one of the world’s largest natural bays, a short 25 miles from the airport.

When to Go
November to April tends to be the best time to visit, with visitors coming to escape the cold temperatures and to spend their spring breaks. Punta Mita gets its fair share of rain during the summer, meaning heat and humidity are constant. On the flip side, the summer season is when Mother Nature is at her best and the Four Seasons Resort is at its most lush and green.

What to Do
The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita has a plethora of onsite activities.* For the active traveler, that includes beach volleyball, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, and whale watching. On land you can golf (choose between two Jack Nicklaus-designed courses), play tennis, ride horses on the beach, or play basketball. For the gym rats, partake in group fitness classes or a one-on-one personal training session. For those seeking knowledge of local culture, you can attend lectures on the local indigenous population or Mexican gastronomy, take Spanish lessons, and even create your own tequila blend! And of course, like any Four Seasons, there’s the Kids For All Seasons program for the younger ones (ages 5-12), and one for teens (13-18). Throw in a family pool and a lazy river and your kiddos are sure to stay busy!
*Due to Covid-19, some activities are not available; for example, the Kids Club is not currently operating but the Four Seasons has introduced their Schoolcations Program. For a complete list of activities and services operating at time of publication, please see the table at the end of this post

Nearby Attractions
We recommend a day trip to Islas Marieta, a Mexican national park reachable by boat or ferry. A group of uninhabitable islands, this park offers unrivaled snorkeling and kayaking. Additionally, archeology buffs can visit Careyeros Hill, an ancient ridgetop archaeological site dated back to 800 AD. Lastly, the charming village of Sayulita is a short 30-minute drive away. Shop ‘til you drop as you stroll along the street markets, tuck in a locally sourced meal, or hang out on the beach and watch the surfers.

Clientele
This property is great for both families and adults. If kids aren’t your thing, there’s an entire adult-pool complex, complete with two plunge pools, a whirlpool, a full bar and 10 private cabanas. And if kids are your thing, see above – they’ll stay busy!
